In 2018 TICPR will strengthen an already stellar Safety Plan
Clayton, NY USA April 20, 2018
With our second annual event fast approaching and the excitement building, TICPR is always looking for ways to enhance your experience, all the while keeping safety paramount. “In the Heat of the moment” it is easy to get caught up in the “WOW” factor of our surroundings: turbine boats, fresh out of the mold boat deliveries, spectacular paint jobs, and friends you haven’t seen in a year. With all of this hype, we need to keep our eye on the ball, making sure everyone stays safe, respects one another and their space, all the while keeping ultimate control of these huge, powerfully-fast vessels. TICPR is fortunate to have a board with vast knowledge of this sport and event production, couple that with a legion of volunteers that dedicate their time and assets to help make this event a success.
Thousand Islands Emergency Rescue Service (TIERS) is a large part of a small team that crafted our safety and emergency response plans. TIERS leadership is responsible for the implementation of this two Country, Multi International Agency response plan. The team comprised of U.S. Border and Customs, U.S. and Canadian Coast Guard, N.Y. State Park Police, N.Y. State Police, (RCMP) Royal Canadian Mounted Police, County Sheriffs, along with various local Town, Village, Fire and Ambulance Squads will make sure that everyone involved is at the ready to implement (BEEP), our Boater Emergency Extraction Plan. This two Country plan will get a boater in need, from the water to a land based ambulance for transportation.
This year TICPR is excited and proud to announce that Mr. Tres Martin will be attending our event. Not only will Tres assist with our safety plan and drivers meeting, he will be offering his Performance Boat School to the first three that would like to participate. The Tres Martin Performance Boat School is for both V Bottoms and Catamarans. The course teaches you correct boat driving skills, along with the possibility of a 10% discount off your insurance.
